Grey Suiter
Manners
Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Grey transitioned from working in dog daycare and shelter volunteering to a full-time adoption advisor at Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). With over 2 years in shelter work, Grey placed hundreds of animals into adoptive homes and developed stress-reducing enrichment programs to support them during their stays. His diverse background includes experience with children, volunteering at non-profits, and a deep commitment to diversity and inclusivity for people with disabilities, families, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
At PAWS, he managed challenging behavioral cases, including those involving aggression, reactivity, and fear. He created behavior plans and supported both animals and adopters, drawing on his Fear Free Shelters certification and mentorship from industry veterans. Grey is committed to continued education and is a proud member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) working towards the title of Certified Dog Behavior Consultant. Drawing from his extensive experience in various artistic fields such as freelance film-making and visual art, Grey brings a creative and unique approach to his work. He hopes to build his own behavior consulting practice and assist dogs and their caretakers as they navigate complex behaviors in the shelter and home settings.
Grey shares his home with Taro, a sensitive St. Bernard mix who overcame a difficult start at the shelter. Grey and Taro worked hard together to combat anxiety and over-arousal and are now ready to get started in dog sports and trick training. When Grey is not training, he can be found hiking, bouldering, rockhounding, making art, and traveling as a volunteer trainer with the Wenatchee Youth Circus.
